Friday Favorites

Did you know today is National Spaghetti Day? When I woke up this morning I was clueless to this food day, but after a quick scan of several blogs I noticed several people talking about it. I am a sucker for holidays so it looks like I will have to whip up some spaghetti for dinner tonight.

How is 2013 treating you so far? I have no complaints. I think my household has finally recovered from our Christmas sickness and we are healthy again. Yay! Enjoy my first Friday Favorites of 2013!

1. BOOKS

These are five books that I just couldn’t put down in 2012. I’m always looking for something new to read so please share your favorites in the comments!

2. SEWING TUTORIALS

I can’t wait to find some cute fabric and sew this tunic for Penelope! Click on the image to go to the tutorial and check out the other adorable tutorials luvinthemommyhood offers. She is so super talented.

3. NEW DINING TABLE

We desperately need new dining room furniture. I love the style of this table from Restoration Hardware. To be honest I pretty much love all the tables from Restoration Hardware. :) I like the idea of pairing mixed match chairs with a table like this.

4. GIANT CROSS STITCH

I saw this tutorial awhile back from Ready Made and I can’t get the idea out of my head. Looks like I will have to get out my graph paper and start sketching a design. What do you think, giant cross stitch yay or nay?

5. CHALLAH FRENCH TOAST

I made this for our New Year’s brunch. So yummy! Recipe from Reluctant Entertainer. Go make it. Now!

6. LEOPARD PRINT SHOES

I have seen leopard print shoes popping up everywhere. I love how they are a little bit sassy, I’m just not sure if I could pull it off.

7. BEACH VACATIONS

It is cold and snowy here in Nebraska –I’m not complaining, I love the different seasons we get to experience. Buuuuut, that doesn’t mean I’m not dreaming of laying on a beach somewhere. Ahh a beach vacation sounds so lovely right now!

8. AEROPRESS COFFEE MAKER

This crazy contraption allows you to make espresso-like brew with out the crazy fancy $1000+ machines.

9. SHORTBREAD

This Chocolate-Speckled Salted Shortbread from Bake or Break is utterly drool worthy. With Sunday being National Shortbread Day I think that is reason enough to give it a try!

10. TURQUOISE JEWELRY

I would gladly take one of each of those rings. So pretty! This week I bought myself turquoise ear rings and a turquoise ring. I think the bright color compliments my mostly black wardrobe. :)

Have a fantastic weekend everyone! xo

Yes to giant cross-stitch! I love that idea! Maybe a “G” or the work “HAPPY” or something? :)
